West Virginia University Marching Band - 2010

May not belong here , but.... Marching band Pre-season 2010 - or better known as "The day we graduated our oldest out of the house!"

When we arrived, we were luck enough to get to park in the "Parent Lot"!  It was less than 5 minute walk to the Stadium.  I was impressed with the level of drinking and partying going on!  It wasn't a bunch of crazy or stupid drunks around (like I have seen at Browns games), but just people having fun and drinking heavily.  We didn't bring anything to drink but I figured I would have a few beers at the game...until I found out that the stadium was 'dry'!  Heck, there were people all around carrying a 12-pack in one hand and the other elbow busy emptying them just next to the entrance.  Then I understood why...

To say we had 'nose-bleed' seats would be an inaccurate statement; our row just below the upper nose bleed section...lol..  I thought with our seat number being #1 & 2, we would be next to the isle .. but no.  It meant that my shoulder was against the outer stadium wall!  In spite of the our seat location, the view was still pretty good.  From our seat looking over the wall (see pictures above), we could see a sea of WVU yellow and over a mile river of people walking to the stadium.  Wow!

We got there in plenty of time to see the pre-game show.  Just by happen-stance, Ben was the 4th person out of the 'tunnel' for the run-on deployment of the Marching Band

A short video clip from my Point&Shoot camera (~3 MB)

University of Cincinnati brought their band and at Halftime, the 2 bands performed together. 620+ instruments together - WOW!
